Privacy Policy
1.In short
Capartly is a health log that runs entirely on your phone. It has no user accounts, no servers of ours, and no analytics or advertising code. Everything you enter — about yourself, your children, or anyone else in your family — is written to a database on the device and stays there.
We never receive it. There is nowhere for it to be sent.
The one thing that leaves your device is a purchase, and Google Play handles that, not us. Section 7 explains exactly what that involves.
2.Who this policy comes from
This policy covers the Android application Capartly (package
com.capartly.app), published on Google Play.
Contact: capartly@gmail.com
If you need a postal address for a formal data-protection request, ask by email and we will provide one.
3.What Capartly stores on your device
You decide what goes in. The app is built to hold:
- the people you add: name, date of birth, sex, profile photo, health-insurance details, and national identifiers where you choose to enter them;
- timeline entries: temperature readings, symptoms with severity and notes, doctor and facility visits, tick bites and where on the body they were found, and free-text notes;
- allergies and long-term conditions you record;
- medications, treatment plans, scheduled doses, and the doses actually given;
- vaccination plans and the doses given;
- height and weight measurements;
- photos you attach to a symptom entry or a person's profile;
- your settings, such as units and language.
Much of that is health data, which the GDPR treats as a special category of personal data. That is precisely why the app keeps it local.
All of it lives in the app's private storage on your device. None of it is uploaded, synchronised, shared, or backed up to any server run by us or by anyone else.
4.What we collect: nothing
We do not collect, receive, store, sell, or share any personal data. Concretely, Capartly contains:
- no user accounts and no sign-in;
- no server, API, or backend belonging to the developer;
- no analytics or product-measurement SDK;
- no crash-reporting or performance-monitoring SDK;
- no advertising, advertising IDs, or ad networks;
- no trackers, fingerprinting, or cross-app identifiers;
- no location collection — the tick body map is a diagram you tap, not GPS;
- no access to your contacts, calendar, microphone, or camera stream.
The app holds the internet permission only because the Google Play Billing library requires it. Capartly makes no network request of its own.
5.Google Play Data safety
The Data safety section of our Play Store listing declares the following, and this policy is the detail behind it.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Does the app collect or share any of the required user data types? | No |
| Data collected | None |
| Data shared with third parties | None |
| Is data encrypted in transit? | Not applicable — no user data is transmitted |
| Can users request that their data be deleted? | Data exists only on the device. Deleting entries in the app, clearing the app's data, or uninstalling removes it. |
6.Permissions, and what each one is for
| Permission | Why the app asks for it |
|---|---|
| Notifications | To show medication, vaccination, and appointment reminders. Decline it and the app still works — the reminders simply do not appear. |
| Exact alarms | So a dose reminder fires when the dose is actually due, rather than whenever the system next gets round to it. |
| Full-screen intent | For the Premium medication alarm, which has to appear over a locked screen. |
| Run at start-up | To re-arm your pending reminders after the phone restarts. Without it, a reboot silently cancels them. |
| Internet and network state | Required by the Google Play Billing library, and used only to talk to Google Play about purchases. |
| Billing | To offer Premium through Google Play. |
None of these send your health data anywhere.
Photos. Capartly never asks for storage or photo-library access. Attaching a photo goes through the Android photo picker, which hands the app only the single image you picked.
7.Purchases through Google Play
Premium is a one-time purchase, processed by Google Play. When you buy it:
- Google handles the payment. Your card and billing details go to Google and never to us.
- The app asks Google Play whether the signed-in Google account owns the product, and unlocks the paid features accordingly. That answer is "owned" or "not owned" — it does not tell the app, or us, who you are.
- We see only aggregated sales reporting in the Google Play Console: figures, not people.
Google's handling of payment data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service.
8.Third-party services
Google Play Billing is the only third-party service the app talks to, and only for the purpose in section 7. The other libraries Capartly is built on — Jetpack Compose, Room, Hilt, Coil, and Vico — run entirely on the device and send nothing anywhere.
9.Backups and switching phones
Android cloud backup is switched off for this app, deliberately. The database, files, and settings are all excluded, so a family's medical record is never uploaded to Google's backup servers.
Device-to-device transfer stays on. When you set up a new phone directly from the old one, Android copies the app's data across. That is a handset-to-handset copy which does not pass through a third-party server.
There is no export feature yet. If you factory-reset or lose the phone without a direct transfer, the data is gone — we hold no copy that could restore it.
10.Children's data
Capartly exists so that a parent or carer can keep a health record about their family, children included. The app is meant to be used by adults.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone of any age, because we collect nothing at all. Information a parent records about a child stays on that parent's device, under that parent's control.
11.Security
The data sits in the app's private storage area, which Android keeps isolated from other apps.
Beyond that, the real protection is the device itself: a screen lock, an up-to-date Android version, and not handing an unlocked phone to someone you would rather did not read the record. A rooted or malware-infected device can bypass Android's isolation, and that is outside our control.
12.How long data is kept, and how to delete it
For as long as you keep it. Nothing expires on its own, and you stay in control:
- delete individual entries, medications, or an entire person from inside the app;
- clear the app's data in Android Settings → Apps → Capartly → Storage, which empties the database;
- uninstall the app, which removes everything it stored.
None of that requires a request to us, because we hold nothing to delete.
13.Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. Those rights are exercised against a controller that holds your data.
Capartly holds none. The data is on your device, in your hands, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or erase — and you can exercise every one of those rights directly in the app, as described in section 12.
For your purchase record, the controller is Google. Use your Google account tools or contact Google about it.
You can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the Czech Republic that is the Office for Personal Data Protection (uoou.gov.cz). Questions about this policy are welcome at capartly@gmail.com.
14.Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it, and the current version is always at this address.
Cloud backup, sync, and sharing are things we might build one day if enough people ask for them — nothing is planned or committed. If a future version of Capartly ever does send data off the device, this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the feature will be something you opt into — never a silent change to how existing data is handled.
